11/08/1999 When mailing in the 8500-8 hard copies please do not include the summary sheet. The summary sheet is for your records only. We do not need it sent in.
10/20/1999 The item 60 comment space as well other comment fields have been enlarged. Please note: The Internet system requires all dates to be in Y2K format, including previous exams and visits to health professionals. The Certification Division realizes that most airman will not be able to remember the exact date of past medical visits. If the airman is unsure of any exact date please have them estimate. The airman must provide at least the year. If the airman has already left the office and has not estimated the date, the AME may estimate the month and day. We recommend using 01 for any dates you are estimating.
09/27/1999 Password letters were mailed out Tuesday, 9/21/1999. Please note: to request User Name and Passwords for your staff members you must use the form enclosed with your Password letter. Remember: The "FAA Original Copy" needs to be mailed into the Certification Division every two weeks. Please note: The back of the form does not need to be typed.
09/20/1999 The Internet-based AMCS is online!! Please watch for your Instruction Manual and Password letters which are in the mail.
**Please Note: Do NOT enter sample data into the Internet system.
Any data entered into the Internet AMCS must be actual exam data.**
Corrections to the Instruction Manual: Page 1, paragraph 7: the URL has a typo. It should read: "http://www.cami.jccbi.gov". Page 7, figure 8: The line which reads "17.a. Do You Currently Use Any Medication..." was inadvertantly omitted. This is just an oversight in the Manual. The Internet system has item 17a clearly labled.
