Operational Evolution Partnership
OEP Associates Team | Review Board | OEP Partners

“The OEP is taking the right approach - it's about integration management.
This is critical, because we can't afford a case where the right side of the agency is not aligned with what the left side is doing. All of our efforts should be targeted toward building NextGen. The OEP will keep us all on the same road.”

-- Acting Administrator
-- Deputy Administrator

Each member commits his/her line of business to fulfilling its individual role in NextGen implementation, and to ensuring cross-agency coordination on interdependent activities.
- Measure the periodic progress and ensure timely application of resources towards achieving the vision.
- Issue policies and guidance, or work to elevate policy issues to the right level for resolution.
- Identify specific leaders within your organization who will work with leaders from other organizations and the OEP office to develop the successive versions of the plan.
- Work with other team members and the OEP office, to make decisions on the priorities of initiatives to pursue the action or explore alternate paths when challenges are encountered.
The OEP Review Board takes a "big picture" view of FAA's transition to NextGen. It explores the interdependencies of various agency activities, providing a cross-agency perspective that will assist with integration, timely rulemaking, identification of required policy changes, and understanding of funding impacts. The OEP Review Board leads a cross-agency resource prioritization activity that supports the agency's budget formulation. It provides recommendations to the OEP Associates Team.

The OEP is a tool for communicating with oversight organizations and particularly with the aviation community, including airlines, cargo carriers, airports, manufacturers, business and general aviation. It describes operational changes for the mid-term as well as the NextGen end state. It helps our partners understand what is coming, and when, and what they'll need to do to get ready. The OEP office conducts frequent outreach efforts, particularly through participation with industry associations.
