John Vinter is the founder of International Space Brokers, Inc. (ISB), Rosslyn, Virginia and until 2006, the ISB chairman. ISB provides risk management and insurance brokering services to the commercial space industry. Under Mr. Vinter's leadership since 1991, ISB became the second most prominent company in space insurance, with a 30% market share. Before establishing ISB, Mr. Vinter worked at International Technology Underwriters, Inc., (March 1984 to February 1991) as senior vice president and finally as executive vice president. From August 1976 until February 1984, he was the director of Administration, Contracts and Procurement with Satellite Business Systems, responsible for risk management and contracting business for the company. From July 1968 until August 1976, Mr. Vinter held management positions with Communications Satellite Corporation. Mr. Vinter holds a degree in Economics from Georgetown University and a Master's Degree in Telecommunications Operations from George Washington University. He served as COMSTAC Chair from October 2003 until January 2007.
