Manny Weiss was appointed by Administrator Blakey as Regional Administrator for Eastern Region on September 12, 2005. The Eastern Region encompasses the geographical area that includes Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The Region provides support for more than 5,200 FAA employees and oversees operations at some of the worlds busiest airports including, JFK International Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, and Baltimore/Washington International Airport.
At the time of his appointment Mr. Weiss was Eastern Regional Executive Manager. In 1994 Mr. Weiss served as Acting Deputy Regional Administrator. He began his career in 1967 as a Staff Architect in Eastern Region. He has served in various managerial positions including Manager of Eastern Region Logistics Division, Manager of the Air Traffic Resource Planning Branch and Manager of the Eastern Region Safety & Capacity Staff.
Mr. Weiss has attended the London School of Business, the Kellogg School, Northwestern University, the New School for Social Research Graduate School of Management, and Pratt Institutes School of Architecture and Graduate School of Urban Planning. He is the recipient of the Secretary 9/11 Ribbon and the New York Federal Executive Board Award for Extraordinary Service.
